My Vision:
I would love to teach everyone that has just the smallest desire how to oil paint. I personally have discovered that the smallest desire can turn into a raging fire of passion for art.My vision is to see everyone happy and enjoying it to the fullest. Art can change the way you see so many things in life it is our therapy of life.

About the Artist...
Let me tell all of you for the first time about me it is always strange talking about yourself but I will give it a try. Of course most of you know my name by now any way my name is Michael Thompson I have been painting for about 8 and a half years now. I have been teaching almost as long as I have been painting I love to help others learn. I always thought as a young child I could paint if I could just afford to try it. Looking back those were hard times moving on... I think it was December 1999 when I finally made up my mind once and for all to give it a try, after ten years of putting it in the back of my mind. I bought a painting kit and thought I would give it a go I loved it, it seemed hard but everything is hard the very first time you try it. After a few attempts I put it away in frustration "I was painting without guidance or instruction". So a year past one day as fate would have it I was looking for something in the bottom of my closet and I can not remember exactly what it was. I felt something fall on me it was my painting supplies that I had pushed away for the past year. Immediately my old ambitions came back to me. I tried it one more time and that time and something happened a little spark occurred I had painted something that actually looked like something. Well at least I thought it did at the time LOL. I do different painting techniques I am not strictly wet on wet painter. I like the traditional way also. I have learned most of my painting technique from my students I have found you can learn so much from each other no matter level of painting you may be on. I have many teachers "students" I once was told "You come to teach but stay to learn"I invite you to paint along with me or if not with me I invite you to just give it a try.

Painting Tip 5 The Palette Knife
This is my favorite painting tool by far to use if you go shopping for one you will find out they come in all kinds of shapes and sizes I like to use one that looks like this click here. You can use the palette knife paint entire paintings it is great for rocks, snow, dirt, trees, clouds, yes clouds I will include some in my future art lessons. It takes a little time to get use to if you have never picked it up I urge you to give it a try. To load the knife you start with a pile of paint start pulling it out to make it long and FLAT has to be flat then hold the knife upright with the long edge in the paint, now pull the knife at an angle this will give you a roll on the edge of the knife.Just what you need to start painting a masterpiece.
Painting maybe your next passion.
